Sustainability commitment

Acting sustainably is one of the fundamental pillars of our purpose, “We Always Care”.

Combining our sustainable vision with the growing demands of the market, we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment by monitoring and communicating the technical, environmental and social performance of products and services throughout the entire life cycle, from raw material sourcing to production and final disposal or reuse.

Our commitment spans 3 dimensions:

Did you know that we started the production of cotton buds with paper sticks even before the legal requirements?

Today, further steps have been taken and for specific production lines we use:

  • Cotton from 100% organic farming according to the “Global Organic Textile” standard of the Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification (ICEA).
  • Recycled and FSC-certified paper and PLA, a compostable bio-plastic.
  • Formulas with natural ingredients.

We are moving towards increasingly sustainable packaging, preferring:

  • Compostable bioplastics, such as PLA
  • FSC-certified paper
  • 100% recyclable materials

We want to work increasingly towards a circular and regenerative economy, reusing materials in subsequent production cycles and minimising waste; 97% of cotton is reused in Sisma’s internal production cycles.

We care deeply about the health of our planet and its inhabitants. In 2023, we installed two photovoltaic systems at our production facilities, enabling us to meet approximately 20% of our energy needs by generating 2 GWh of green energy annually.*
